Ink washes made by Mark with artist Sian Hughes
Thanks to the Gwynt Y Mor and Rhyl Flats funds, and the success of our Conwy group, we now have a Still Life group in Abergele.
You will find us at Canolfan Dinorben – Abergele Family Centre, on Faenol Avenue, Abergele, (post code LL22 7HT) on Wednesday afternoons from 2pm – 4pm.
You don’t need to book,or have any experience to take part, and the atmosphere is very laid back!
Following in the footsteps of Conwy Still Life, this is an informal, friendly and relaxed group for anybody who has been bereaved, at any time.
As with our Conwy group, a Cruse counsellor will usually be available to chat to in a separate room, at any time during the workshop.
Timetable for May
- May 8 with Sue
- Using simple materials, including elastic bands and polystyrene, we will be creating a wide range of impressive and colourful prints (see below).
- May 15 with Sian
- We will be bookmaking using various ‘washes’ on paper to create abstract design.
- May 22 with Sue
- Building on the first session with new techniques and materials
- May 29 with Sian
- We’ll be making books with the interesting, and often unexpected, designs we have made, and also writing with feathers!
Over the past four months we have seen the Conwy group grow in all sorts of directions with new friendships forged between people of all ages. We have created all sorts of work – cyanotypes, watercolours, paper cutting, pottery, printing, bookmaking, drawing .. and are always up for suggestions.
This – and more- is what you can expect at the Abergele group.
There is no charge, no need to book and no experience necessary and the door is always open..
