We have really good news! The Big Lottery has granted funding for our new Still Life art workshops, for people in Conwy who have been bereaved.
If you are over 16, have lost someone important, and would like to join a group where everybody has a shared experience of how that feels – whether the person you’ve lost was a relative, friend or colleague – please join us.
Cruse bereavement counsellors will also take part in the art group each week, and wlll be available to talk privately, in a separate room .
The workshops started on Tuesday October 23 and are held at St Mary’s Church Hall, each Tuesday from 2pm to 4pm.
The relaxed and informal sessions are free, and will be run by professional artists. You do not need any experience…
Art Workshops in January
- January 8 – Cyanotype with Sian: an exciting alternative photographic process without using a camera! We will make vibrant blue and white images on watercolour paper – picking up precise details from a range of natural materials
- (above Creations from Week One of Cyanotypes)
- January 15 – Cyanotype 2
An opportunity to develop more images and to bring your own materials. Choose a piece to frame – or make a simple book.
January 22 & 29 with Ruth:
We will be working with a variety of different drawing materials eg. charcoal, chalks and inks and exploring the different ways of applying them to the surface.
We are ALWAYS open to ideas and suggestions. If there’s an artform you would like to try, please let us know!
We have an open door policy so feel free to drop in for ten minutes if you would like to see what’s going on, before commiting to a full session. Come at 3 o clock and you might even get a cup of tea when we stop for our break!!
